Where they were before.
Polaris ran a 3,200-vehicle last-mile fleet across 18 US metros. Their dispatch ran on a custom routing tool from 2014 that didn't know about real-time traffic, customer time windows, or driver dwell costs.
Empty miles — driving an empty truck between deliveries — were eating 19% of vehicle-hours. Every percentage point was worth ~$1.8M annually. The COO needed an answer that wasn't another consulting engagement.
The solution

Polaris deployed Altiverse Fleet across the full hub — Dispatch Console for live ops, Route Optimizer for stop-sequencing, Fleet Health for predictive maintenance, and Mobile Driver Hub for in-cab guidance.
Route Optimizer trained on 90 days of historical routes before going live in shadow mode for 30 days. In month 4 it took over dispatch with human-in-the-loop oversight.
